The PNT Standards Consortium was formed in 2026 by Founders IS4S, Leidos, and TRX Systems to develop and maintain the Consortium PNT standards to meet the ever-evolving needs of the positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) community.

A 501c6 not-for-profit membership organization, the Consortium aims transition the ownership and custodianship of new and existing PNT standards to a more collaborative setting of industry, government and academia for greater standards integrity and ecosystem adoption.

What Is The PNT Standards Consortium?

The work scope and overarching objectives of the Consortium is to:

Develop future changes to standards in an open, collaborative manner.

  • Identify priorities for evolution and path toward implementation
  • Collaboratively identify and resolve issues in standards ecosystem software
  • Improve standards documentation to ensure ease of implementation across the ecosystem

Promote expanded use of Consortium standards by industry.

  • Identify industry challenges and priorities
  • Simplify use of the standards to encourage adoption
  • Solicit and incorporate feedback from industry
